Good morning blog friends!

As you read this, hopefully I’ll have wrapped up my very first international writing conference-followed by a luxurious soak in the Blue Lagoon-my husband will have flown in from New York and we’ll be driving around Iceland’s celebrated Ring Road with a loose itinerary (courtesy of Nordic Visitor travel business). And what a whirlwind journey that should be!

My plans include as many modes of transportation as possible; I’m a firm believer in viewing a place from every angle. We’re driving a Toyota Land Cruiser, taking two boat rides, a bus, snowmobiles, and a legendary Icelandic pony (I’m flying solo on that one as the husband isn’t a huge fan of horses!). We’ll also be hiking a lot and exploring villages and meeting interesting people, along with photographing the amazing landscapes. In terms of meals, there are many unique foods in this country but the one thing everyone seems to agree on is the famous hot dog!
